I partecipanti dovranno confrontarsi con il “Lusso Sostenibile”, ovvero bellezza e responsabilità
Il Singapore Jewellery Design Award – organizzato dalla Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) e sostenuto dalla Jewellery Design & Management International School (JDMIS) e da IEG Asia, organizzatore della Singapore International Jewelry Expo, è un concorso che offre l’opportunità, ai partecipanti vincitori, di vedere realizzati e commercializzati i propri progetti che, oltretutto, beneficeranno dell’esposizione alla fiera internazionale dei gioielli di Singapore. Il SJDA è dunque a sostegno dell’eccellenza e quest’anno, con un decennio di storia alle spalle, ritorna proponendo l’attuale quanto complesso tema del “Lusso Sostenibile”. Perché i due campi, apparentemente opposti, possano trovare una degna fusione, i designer dovranno tenere ben presente il concetto di responsabilità, esplorando nuovi materiali, tecniche e forme. Il concorso sarà suddiviso in tre categorie: ‘Jewellery Without Limits’ (rivolta ai designer di ogni età e provenienza professionisti compresi), ‘Fresh Facets’ (dedicata ai talenti emergenti per promuovere e incoraggiare gli studenti di design e i nuovi operatori del settore della gioielleria con meno di cinque anni di esperienza professionale) e ‘Exquisite AI’ (che vedrà l’utilizzo di strumenti di intelligenza artificiale generativa per uno sguardo sul futuro del design).
La giuria che esaminerà e selezionerà i progetti vincitori è composta da:
Alan Revere, maestro orafo, designer pluripremiato, ex presidente dell’American Jewelry Design Council ed educatore oltre che fondatore della Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts di San Francisco.
Federica Frosini, figura di spicco nel settore della gioielleria. Direttrice della rivista di gioielleria VO+, ex senior jewellery editor di Vogue Italia (Vogue Gioiello) e CNTraveller, influenzando i gusti e le tendenze della gioielleria di oggi.
Katerina Perez, celebre insider della gioielleria con sede a Parigi, giornalista, consulente di marca e influente Key Opinion Leader. Ha plasmato la narrativa dell’alta gioielleria attraverso katerinaperez.com, e Instagram.
I vincitori riceveranno premi in denaro e buoni di formazione da JDMIS.
Il concorso è rivolto ai designer di tutto il mondo che per poter partecipare dovranno inviare i propri lavori entro le 23,59 (dell’SGT) del 1° aprile 2024

Singapore Jewellery Design Award returns Participants will have to confront “Sustainable Luxury” the theme of the competition that calls for responsibility
The Singapore Jewellery Design Award -organized by the Singapore Jewellers Association (SJA) and supported by the Jewellery Design & Management International School (JDMIS) and IEG Asia, organizer of the Singapore International Jewelry Expo-, is a competition that offers the opportunity for winning participants to see their designs realized, and marketed, which, moreover, will benefit from exposure at the Singapore International Jewelry Expo. The SJDA is thus in support of excellence and this year, with a decade of history behind it, returns proposing the current as well as complex theme of “Sustainable Luxury.” In order for the two seemingly opposite fields to find a worthy fusion, designers will have to keep the concept of responsibility in mind, exploring new materials, techniques and forms. The competition will be divided into three categories: ‘Jewellery Without Limits’ (aimed at designers of all ages and backgrounds including professionals), ‘Fresh Facets’ (dedicated to emerging talents to promote and encourage design students and newcomers to the jewelry industry with less than five years of professional experience) and ‘Exquisite AI’ (which will see the use of generative artificial intelligence tools, a forward-looking look at the future of design).
The jury that will review the finalists and select the winning designs consists of: Alan Revere, master goldsmith, award-winning designer, former president of the American Jewelry Design Council and educator as well as founder of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco.

Winners will receive cash prizes and training vouchers from JDMIS. The winner of the “Jewelry Without Limits” category will receive the grand prize of an exhibition booth at the Vicenzaoro fair, with travel and lodging in Vincenza sponsored by IEG Asia.
The competition is open to designers from around the world who must submit their entries by 11:59 p.m. (SGT) on April 1, 2024
