L’alta orologeria delle Maison si libra nell’aria
Bisogna fare un passo indietro al 1906, anno in cui Louis Vuitton ideò l’Aéro Trunk, un baule leggero con chiusura a tenuta stagna (in caso di caduta in mare avrebbe galleggiato proteggendo il prezioso carico che conteneva) che si fissava alla base di una mongolfiera. Oggi, a quell’oggetto d’avanguardia sono stati ispirate due straordinarie creazioni d’orologeria (in collaborazione con l’Epee 1839, pluripremiata manifattura svizzera): una mongolfiera in vetro rosso trasparente e una in legno pregiato, entrambe poggiano su un baule in miniatura – nei dettagli rispettoso dei codici dell’originale -, che custodisce un orologio meccanico svizzero.
La Montgolfière Aèro è prodotta in soli otto esemplari (da appoggio o da appendere) ed è ulteriormente arricchita da due pietre preziose: una briolette di citrino da 9,06 carati orna il fiore monogram nel cuore del palloncino traforato, un altro citrino taglio quadrato è incastonato sul fiore Monogram. Inoltre, 1200 diamanti impreziosiscono la struttura della mongolfiera mentre il baule è tempestato di diamanti.

Maisons haute horlogerie hovers in the air
One has to take a step back to 1906, the year Louis Vuitton devised the Aéro Trunk, a lightweight trunk with a watertight closure (in the event of a fall into the sea, it would float, protecting the precious cargo it contained) that attached to the base of a hot air balloon. Today, that avant-garde object has been inspired by two extraordinary watchmaking creations (in collaboration with Epee 1839, an award-winning Swiss manufacture), a hot air balloon made of transparent red glass or fine wood that rests on a miniature trunk-in the details respectful of the codes of the original-that holds a Swiss mechanical watch.
The Montgolfière Aèro is produced in only eight pieces and is further enhanced by two precious stones: a 9.06-carat citrine briolette adorns the Monogram flower in the heart of the openworked balloon; another square-cut citrine is set on the Monogram flower. In addition, 1,200 diamonds embellish the structure of the balloon while the trunk is studded with diamonds.
