Louis Vuitton, l’arte a spasso sulle bag della collezione Artycapucines

 

La collezione Artycapucines della Louis Vuitton si amplia con le opere di cinque nuovi artisti che immortalano le loro visioni sulle borse dell’iconica linea nata nel 2019 e il cui nome rende omaggio al primo negozio della Maison francese aperto in Rue Neuve-des-Capucines a Parigi nel 1854.

L’intera collezione (la Artycapucines 2023 è in edizione limitata di 200 pezzi) comprende 29 creazioni uniche di artisti provenienti da ogni parte del mondo, come Alex Israel, Beatriz Milhazes, Daniel Buren, Hanry Taylor, Paolo Pivi, Park Seo-Bo, Tschabalala Serf, Ugo Rondinone, Urs Fischer, Vik Muniz e Zhao Zhao. Le borse della Artycapucines 2023 sono ulteriori tele bianche che Louis Vuitton mette a disposizione dell’arte confermando la propria dedizione all’universo femminile e a tutto ciò che vi ruota intorno, ad iniziare dalle espressioni dello spirito. Ogni realizzazione nasce da specifiche istanze dei loro creatori, come ad esempio la mini Artycapucines proposta dall’artista cinese Ziping Wang, la borsa più piccola della collezione, ottenuta con frammenti di pelle e intarsi dai colori vivaci, brillanti, motivi pop che rappresentano per l’artista un manifesto sul nostro mondo “visivamente” saturo e autoriflessivo.

Billie Zangewa, invece, nata in Malawi e residente in Sudafrica, utilizza frammenti di seta grezza per realizzare paesaggi e ritratti. Per l’Artycapucines di Louis Vuitton l’artista ha realizzato l’opera The swimming lesson con protagonista sua figlia Mika ricreata attraverso la combinazione di stampa trompe-l’oeil ad alta definizione, ricami vivaci e cuciture a mano volutamente in vista, espressione di una femminilità dinamica ma al contempo romantica e poliedrica, tracciata in ogni altra ideazione della linea.

Louis Vuitton, art walking on bags from the Artycapucines collection

Louis Vuitton’s Artycapucines collection expands with the works of five new artists who immortalise their visions on the bags of the iconic line born in 2019 and whose name pays homage to the French Maison’s first shop opened on Rue Neuve-des-Capucines in Paris in 1854.
The entire collection (the Artycapucines 2023 is a limited edition of 200 pieces) includes 29 unique creations by artists from all over the world, such as Alex Israel, Beatriz Milhazes, Daniel Buren, Hanry Taylor, Paolo Pivi, Park Seo-Bo, Tschabalala Serf, Ugo Rondinone, Urs Fischer, Vik Muniz and Zhao Zhao. The Artycapucines 2023 bags are further blank canvases that Louis Vuitton puts at the disposal of art, confirming its dedication to the feminine universe and everything that revolves around it, starting with expressions of the spirit. Each realisation stems from specific instances of their creators, such as the mini Artycapucines proposed by Chinese artist Ziping Wang, the smallest bag in the collection, obtained with fragments of leather and inlays in bright, vivid colours, pop motifs that represent for the artist a manifesto on our “visually” saturated and self-reflective world.

Billie Zangewa, on the other hand, born in Malawi and living in South Africa, uses fragments of raw silk to create landscapes and portraits. For Louis Vuitton’s Artycapucines, the artist created the work The swimming lesson starring her daughter Mika recreated through a combination of high-definition trompe-l’oeil print, vivid embroidery and deliberately exposed hand-stitching, an expression of a dynamic yet romantic and multifaceted femininity, traced in every other design in the line.
