Damiani: il secret watch ‘Margherita Desert Garden’ finalista al Grand Prix d’Horologerie di Ginevra

Ma sarà anche tra i protagonisti di una speciale mostra itinerante

Alla 24esima edizione del Grand Prix d’Horologerie di Ginevra (GPHG), nella categoria “Jewellery”, Damiani concorre con un pezzo unico che è parte della collezione speciale dedicata al Centenario della Maison: il secret watch Margherita Desert Garden, un capolavoro ispirato al gioiello che Enrico Grassi Damiani (il fondatore) dedicò alla Regina Margherita di Savoia, ha richiesto oltre 300 ore di lavoro, di cui 250 per la sola manifattura e 90 per l’incassatura. È indiscutibilmente un’opera di grande maestria, basti sapere che un sofisticato meccanismo consente di svelare i quadranti dei due orologi “segreti” (impostabili su due fusi orari distinti) semplicemente spostando le margherite centrali verso il basso.

Insieme ad altri cinque marchi di lusso, approda così alla fase finale del concorso, ma questa meraviglia di bellezza e precisione, realizzata in oro giallo e bianco e diamanti brown (27,87 carati) e fancy vivid yellow (2,22 carati), diamanti incolori (5,39 carati) e smeraldi (8,20 carati), sarà anche uno dei 90 orologi protagonisti di una speciale mostra itinerante che dal 12 settembre al 22 novembre 2024 sarà in importanti città come Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh-Ville, New York e Ginevra.

La cerimonia di premiazione del GPHG si terrà al Théâtre du Léman, a Ginevra, mercoledì 13 novembre 2024.

At the 24th edition of the Geneva Grand Prix d’Horologerie (GPHG), in the “Jewellery” category, Damiani is competing with a unique piece that is part of the special collection dedicated to the Maison’s Centenary: the secret watch Margherita Desert Garden, a masterpiece inspired by the jewel that Enrico Grassi Damiani (the founder) dedicated to Queen Margherita of Savoy, took more than 300 hours of work, of which 250 for the manufacture alone and 90 for the casing. It is unquestionably a work of great skill, suffice it to say that a sophisticated mechanism allows the dials of the two “secret” watches (which can be set to two separate time zones) to be revealed by simply moving the central daisies downward.

Together with five other luxury brands, it thus lands in the final stage of the competition, but this marvel of beauty and precision, made of yellow and white gold and brown (27.87 carats) and fancy vivid yellow (2.22 carats) diamonds, colorless diamonds (5.39 carats) and emeralds (8.20 carats), will also be one of the 90 watches featured in a special traveling exhibition that will be in major cities such as Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh-Ville, New York and Geneva from September 12 to November 22, 2024.

The GPHG award ceremony will be held at the Théâtre du Léman in Geneva on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.
