Collezione imperiale e reale di Vienna: tutti i lotti venduti da Sotheby’s a Ginevra
Fatturato totale di oltre 9,6 milioni di franchi svizzeri e stima superata di oltre tre volte. Ecco quanto ha fruttato la vendita dei lotti di “Vienna 1900: An Imperial and Royal Collection”, la splendida collezione nascosta in una cassaforte di una banca tedesca e riemersa dopo decenni. Dopo aver girato per settimane le principali sedi di Sotheby’s in tutto il mondo, è stata finalmente battuta all’asta da Sotheby’s Ginevra. Prima dell’asta, iniziata nei primi giorni di settembre, la collezione ha beneficiato di un tour mondiale che ha toccato New York, Colonia, Parigi, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Taipei e Londra. Poi c’è stata la vendita con risultati sbalorditivi: tutto acquistato.
I 207 lotti della collezione abbracciano due secoli di storia europea. È stata anche la celebrazione dei due migliori gioiellieri austriaci del XIX secolo, Emil Biedermann e Köchert, quest’ultimo ancora in attività. Producevano gioielli principalmente per la corte e la magnificenza delle loro creazioni artigianali è stata messa in mostra in questa vendita.
Spicca il lotto 1089: Devant-de-Corsage di perle naturali e diamanti di Biedermann, che ha raggiunto il prezzo di 1 milione di CHF (stima 270.000 – 450.000 CHF). Da segnalare anche il lotto 1197, un’eccezionale parure di granati non firmata della metà del XIX secolo, composta da un diadema, una collana e tre borchie. Dopo una raffica di offerte, è stata venduta per 88.900 CHF, oltre 25 volte la sua stima massima (stima 1.800 – 3.500 CHF).
Sotheby’s, casa d’aste del Regno Unito tra le più importanti e con centinaia di filiali nel mondo, ha lavorato in collaborazione con la Philipp Württemberg Art Advisory GmbH per portare all’asta questa collezione, che vantava provenienze da tutte le più importanti case reali europee legate alla dinastia austriaca degli Asburgo. Insomma uno straordinario viaggio nella vita delle più influenti famiglie regnanti dell’Europa centrale tra il XIX e l’inizio del XX secolo.

Total turnover of more than 9.6 million Swiss francs and an estimate exceeded by more than three times. This is how much the sale of the lots of ‘Vienna 1900: An Imperial and Royal Collection’, the splendid collection hidden in a German bank vault and resurfaced after decades, yielded. After touring Sotheby’s major venues around the world for weeks, it was finally auctioned at Sotheby’s Geneva. Prior to the auction, which began in early September, the collection enjoyed a world tour that included New York, Cologne, Paris, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Taipei and London. Then came the sale with astounding results: all purchased.
The 207 lots in the collection spanned two centuries of European history. It was also a celebration of the two best Austrian jewellers of the 19th century, Emil Biedermann and Köchert, the latter still working. They produced jewellery mainly for the court and the magnificence of their craftsmanship was on display in this sale.
Sotheby’s, one of the UK’s leading auction houses with hundreds of branches worldwide, worked in collaboration with Philipp Württemberg Art Advisory GmbH to bring this collection, which boasted provenances from all the most important European royal houses linked to the Austrian Habsburg dynasty, to auction. In short, an extraordinary journey into the lives of the most influential ruling families of central Europe between the 19th and early 20th century.
