Aste Bolaffi, 320 lotti tra rari orologi da polso e da tasca

Dalla cipolla istoriata con puttini al modello che Silvio Berlusconi omaggiava come premio di produzione

Sei putti musicisti affollano il quadrante di un Paul Matthey-Doret da tasca del 1880, con cassa massiccia, ben conservata e riccamente incisa (lotto 102, base d’asta 10 mila euro),  parte dei 320 lotti dell’asta del 13 giugno insieme ad un Movado Polyplan del 1915 circa, primo calibro da polso prodotto, un orologio di nicchia con plance che creano una cassa arcuata che si adatta al polso maschile, un’innovazione se si pensa che all’epoca l’orologio da polso non era ancora diffuso (lotto 170, da 7 mila euro).

Ma spiccano anche un elegante Audemars Piguet, ref. 5093 con cassa disegnata da Gerald Genta, il cui quadrante minimalista richiama un “disco volante” (lotto 314, da 3 mila euro); e un Universal Compax ref. 22430 “Universalone”, cronografo d’epoca usato in ambito militare, con diametro oversize di 46 mm (lotto 325, da 8 mila euro).

C’è poi un Patek Philippe ref. 3919, omaggiato annualmente da Silvio Berlusconi ai suoi dipendenti come premio di produzione. Esistente in pochi esemplari, è completo di tutto il corredo e in condizioni eccellenti (lotto 328, da 10 mila euro).
L’esposizione si terrà nelle sedi Bolaffi di Milano e Torino.

Six musician putti crowd the dial of a Paul Matthey-Doret pocket watch, an 1880s timepiece with a massive, well-preserved and richly engraved case (lot 102, auction base €10,000), part of the 320 lots in the June 13 auction along with a Movado Polyplan circa 1915, the first wristwatch caliber produced, a niche watch even for the caliber with a unique construction with planks that create an arched case to fit the male wrist, an innovation considering that the wristwatch was not yet widespread at the time (lot 170, from 7 thousand euros).

But an elegant Audemars Piguet ref. 5093 with a case designed by Gerald Genta also stands out. The minimalist dial recalls a “flying saucer” (lot 314, from 3 thousand euros); and a Universal Compax ref. 22430 “Universalone,” a vintage chronograph used in the military, with an oversize diameter of 46 mm (lot 325, from 8 thousand euros).
Then there is a Patek Philippe ref. 3919. Existing in only a few examples, it is complete with all the equipment and in excellent condition (lot 328, from 10 thousand euros).

The exhibition will be held at the Bolaffi offices in Milan and Turin.
