ICE-Watch lands in Italy and is an immediate success
A short seven years to consolidate their position on European and International markets, ICE-Watch is making its way rapidly in Italy where the Belgian brand founded in 2006 recently debuted.

Two and a half million pieces sold in 2013 in over 60 countries with record performance in France, Germany and Belgium where in 2011 ICE-Watch was the most sold brand in its price range: extraordinary success owing to intuition from founder Jean-Pierre Lutgen who launched ICE-Watch timepieces as a sign of color, affordability and design. 2013 was a year to remember as the baptism of the ICE-Swiss collection, timepieces assembled in Switzerland with Swiss-certified movements; targeting a higher market segment alongside the easy and evergreen line equipped with precise and reliable Miyota movements from Japan.

Here to tell us about the brand is Antonio Ventura, CEO of The New Watch Company S.p.A., distributor in Italy for ICE-Watch.
Dr. Ventura how did the ICE-Watch debut in Italy go?
“Something we didn’t really expect: we started distributing last July and at December 31st we had 600 retailers on board selling ICE-Watch. We are convinced that the Italian market has the potential to place amongst key-markets for the brand. Italy historically has demonstrated openmindedness and this is a strongpoint for us; it’s not a coincidence that the ICE-Watch claim to fame is Change You Can”. What plans do you have for the future?
“Starting with our participation at the prestigious Baselworld scheduled for March 27th where we present our new collection along with the expansion of our range of pieces and color selection of the iconographic ICE-Watch: out stand C02 in pavillion 1.2 will be the setting for the international welcome party. Another important engagement is the June inauguration of the new offices in Belgium that will be the headquarters for European countries: from logistics to post-sales, the new offices in Bastogne are over 6,000 square meters will represent a pole for excellency, functional in the distribution process. In September the new offices in Hong Kong will be inaugurated. I think that this summary eloquently expresses the importance of corporate projects that Italy will partake in with the same professionalism and determination of a qualified Team”.

How much does the digital world affect your brand?
“ICE-Watch is already a 2.0 brand that counts on a fan base numbering 6 million who connect to the International Facebook page rating excellently, as well as a website that is constantly updated. Furthermore, a smartphone App allows users to stay up to date on products news. And it’s on the web that starting April, we’ll have a Color-Time contest geared towards consumers: we would like to be technical sponsors of free time. But that’s not all: soon we will be presenting the new ICE-phone and ICE-tab, a smartphone and tablet branded ICE”.
